18th Century Antique French Wine Table

An exceptional antique French wine table dating to the 18th century, defined by its beautifully timeworn surface, sculptural tripod base and centuries of natural patina.

Traditionally used in the wine growing regions of France, tables like this were made for gathering, tasting and working during the harvest. Its broad round top and primitive hand built construction speak to a time when furniture was created for function, then made extradorinaiy through generations of use. 

Every mark, variation and imperfection tells part of its story. Left intentionally untouched the aged wood has developed a depth and character that simply cannot be reproduced. Today it makes an incredible dining table, breakfast table, wine room and centerpiece or sculptural statement piece.
